Faced with widespread public resentment over his high ‘hypocritical’ drama leading to joining the BJD, former Kalahandi Congress leader and former leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Bhupinder Singh on Tuesday said he has no desire to contest in the forthcoming elections.
While parrying reporters’ questions on his possibility of getting a BJD ticket, he said final selection of candidates for the elections would be made solely by party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Singh added that he is ready to take up any assignment offered by Patnaik. He would prefer campaigning for the BJD candidates rather than contest in the elections, he said.
