Not grooming anyone as successor: Naveen

Published on:

Reiterating that there is no question of an alliance of his BJD with the Congress, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday said he has not groomed anybody as his political successor.

“I have not groomed anybody as my successor. The people of the State will think about it when time will come,” said Patnaik in a question-answer session here while participating at a literary festival organised by a daily newspaper.

Claiming that Odisha’s image has changed and starvation has become a story of the past, Patnaik also highlighted some failures that the State witnessed in recent past.

“There are failures like Posco. But that’s because the Centre changed its policies of giving mines. It is the largest FDI project.” said he.

When asked of any plan to enter into national politics, Patnaik denied it and said he has already served as a Central Minister.
