A nonagerian here has proved if there is strong will power, then there is no problem in defeating the coronavirus.
Veteran Gandhian, freedom fighter and 93-year-old Narayan Das, a resident of Sector-20, Rourkela, is a shining example of how he has successfully trounced the Covid 19 disease. Source said Das’ middle son was found Corona positive on August 9 and was hospitalised on August 10 forenoon in Hi-tech Covid Hospital. Later, Das and his eldest daughter were found Corona positive on August 11. As Das has co- morbidities and there are no adequate treatment facilities in Rourkela Covid Hospital, his family members preferred to keep him in home isolation.
Keeping it as a challenge, Das followed all the guidelines, took medicines and diet on time and finally on August 31, he was tested Corona negative.
Significantly his eldest daughter who was found positive and admitted in Hi-tech Covid Hospital first and then referred to JP Hospital died on August 26.
Despite all these odds happening, Das faced the challenge boldly and recovered. Interestingly, from August 12 (after taking home isolation) till his recovery, he has never contacted the local Covid Hospital.
After recovering from Corona, Das said first of all every one has to understand what is Corona and how to fight it. Instead of getting scared, one has to become easy and follow the guidelines properly, he told.
Regarding the public perception on Corona positive patients, he said, "We should hate Corona, not the Corona patient."
