In view of the lockdown situation, the State Government has decided to provide kerosene oil also to non-ration card holders for their domestic use.
As per the decision, the non-ration card holders would be provided two litre of kerosene per family, informed Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain.
The Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department has written to the district Collectors for distribution of balance stocks of kerosene oil of January-March 2020 to non-ration card holders.
“It is ascertained that there is 3,458 kl of SK oil available with the wholesalers and 98 kl SK oil with the fair price shops across the State as on 31.03.2020,” the Department said in the letter.
The Collectors have been directed to utilise the available kerosene for distribution to non-ration card holders at two litre per family on first-come-first-service at the rate fixed during March 2020.
With the move, over 17 lakh non-ration card holder families in the State would be benefited.
