Non-Gazetted Officers' body seeks probe

In a significant development, the Odisha State Non-Gazetted Officers’ Coodination Committee on Wednesday alleged that former general secretary of the committee Braja Kishore Nanda has links with the Dhalsamant brothers and demanded proper inquiry into the matter.

Committee general secretary Sudhanshu Sekhar Pati alleged that Nanda was found to have met the D-brothers. Besides, despite being a Government employee, Nanda used to wear BJP dress and had even joined a rally of the saffron party held in Cuttack a few months back. This has defied the service code of conduct, said Pati.

Meeting Police Commissioner YB Khurania here, the members of the body urged him to look into Nanda’s link with the criminal siblings and with BJP party. The team also shared a photograph of Nanda with the D-brothers as evidence.

“Moreover, Nanda has also conspired to weaken several employees association and their demands. He used harsh and threatened employees with dire consequences on several occasions,” said Pati.

The body demanded that exemplary action be taken against Nanda if he is found guilty. In response, the Police Commissioner assured them to look into the matter and take steps accordingly. Earlier, over 100 non-gazetted officers took out a procession from the Master Canteen Square to lower PMG here.
