NOCCi Academy held a workshop on Saturday here, where NOCCi convener Amit Behera delivered the welcome address, while former Chief Information Commissioner, Gujarat, RN Das delivered the key note address.
Assistant VP Emami Paper Mills Ajay Mahajan, GM, PPIC, Baleswar Alloys Rajib Mohapatra and INTUC leader Jayant Das addressed the gathering. Economic growth is the fundamental requirement for the development of a country. For companies to invest and an economy to grow, stable environments, efficient institutions, functioning markets and access to sustainable financial services are required, the speakers said. The fact that an economy, even when it experiences a higher growth rate in the capitalist segment, is saddled with an increasing unemployment rate, goes against the gain of conventional growth theory, they observed.
Many entrepreneurs, academics, labour leaders, administrators, politicians, students from engineering and management colleges etc participated in the workshop. The workshop ended with vote of thanks by Manas Nayak.
