Director of local Jagyaseni Nursing Home Dr SK Patel on Saturday refuted allegations that a woman died after giving birth to a child due to wrong treatment in the nursing home two months back.
Patel made this clarification at a Press conference while referring to a newspaper report with the above allegation. He said the allegations are baseless.
He said the water level of the uterus of Tara Bidhan (36) had leaked before she was admitted in the nursing home for delivery. In spite of this, as requested by family members, an operation was conducted on the woman and a healthy girl child was born.
Thereafter, the patient moved freely and was shifted to IGH, Rourkela. Subsequently, she was taken to a private hospital at Bhubaneswar where she died on October 8.
When the nursing home was in no way responsible for the death of the patient, demand of Rs 15 lakh by family members for wrong treatment is very unfortunate, said Dr Patel.
Among others, Dr Surendra Mahanta, Dr RK Joshi and Dr SK lath were present.
