The Orissa High Court on Thursday granted an interim stay on the ongoing recruitment process of teaching and nonteaching staff of the Sambalpur University.
Citing violation of the reservation policy, one Dhananjay Soren and others have approached the court seeking to quash the State Government’s notification on recruitments in different universities and a subsequent advertisement issued by the Sambalpur University.
Taking cognizance of the matter Justice Dr BR Sarangi ordered the university authorities to carry on with the recruitment process without making any appointments without the leave of the High Court, said the petitioner’s counsel Bhabani Shankar Rayguru.
Notably, the State Government last month had allowed several universities, including the Sambalpur University, to fill up the vacancies in their respective institutions.
