In view of the rush of devotees during the Rath Yatra in Puri, the State Government has decided to make the tollgate fee free at Pipili for vehicles for three days.
“The tollgate at Pipili on National Highway-203 connecting Bhubaneswar and Puri will be free for the devotees on Rath Yatra, Bahuda Jatra and Suna Besha,” informed Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Pradipta Mohapatra after a special review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Puri on Friday. The festival falls on July 4.
The district administration would provide free ambulance service from July 3 to 15 during the festival, he added.
Besides, 200 buses will be plying to the holy town and 194 special trains will run to the Puri railway station during the yatra.
CM Patnaik urged the servitors for smooth conduct of the yatra and asked the officials to complete the Fani restoration projects by June 30.
