No social distancing in Sunabeda market

Published on:

Though social distancing is ought to be maintained strictly during the lockdown in wake of the coronavirus outbreak, it is being blatantly flouted at the Jagannath Market in HAL Township under the Sunabeda Municipality.

But there is no enforcement of the lockdown guidelines by the municipality or police officials in the market which opens from 7 am to 11 am. More than 1,500 people are depending on this market. Neither scores of customers nor the vegetable and non-vegetarian sellers are maintaining the necessary physical distance or wearing masks which have been made mandatory by the Government.

The police, HAL security guards and social activists are remaining silent spectators instead of reprimanding them or sensitising them about the deadly coronavirus disease which does not discriminate and can infecting anyone.
