The Builders’ and Dalil Writers’ Associations withdrew their agitation on Saturday after the Ganjam district administration assured that the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) rules would not be applicable for sale and purchase of agriculture lands in the district.
“People intending to sell agricultural land had to face difficulties as such lands were included under the RERA. Now, people will not face any problem in selling cultivable lands,” said Builder Association Er Uma Shankar Panigrahi at a Press meet.
He said association members had been talking to district administrative officials about the problems people were facing while selling agricultural lands for over week now. He requested the Brahmapur Development Authority (BDA) to complete processing of required files at the earliest.
MlA Dr RC Patnaik and BDA Chairman Subash Moharana assured to provide required suppot. Among others, association vice-presidents lalit Mangaraj and Sai Patnaik, Dalil Writers’ Association’s Sanjay Nayak and law advisor Jyoti Prasad Chhotray were present.
