Raja has no meaning for family members of a former employee, Mohanty Karua, of Tata Sponge company who are sitting in dharna for fulfilment of their demand in front of the main gate of the factory for the last 29 days. In the meanwhile ,while Secretariat of President of India has issued letter to Chief Secretary of Odisha to inquire into the matter and send back a report , the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notice to Collector, Keonjhar to submit action taken report (ATR).
Mohanty Karua had died in a mysterious situation on duty in the plant 15 years back. Since then Bilasi Karua, his wife, has been struggling for a permanent service for her son and compensation but in vain. Though she is continuing the stir for nearly a month, there is no response from either the company or the district administration.
Sources close to the striking family said the dharna would continue indefinitely till their demands are fulfilled.
