No progress in N'kalebar works: Cong

The Congress on Tuesday slammed the Union and State Governments for tardy progress of various projects undertaken for the ensuing Nabakalebar Rath Yatra and reiterated apprehensions that they would not be completed on time.

"Construction of roads and bridges, sewerage systems, digging of drainage, lying of power cables and all other renovation and repair works are going on at a snail's pace. The projects will not be completed before Rath Yatra if work goes on at such a slow pace," PCC president Prasad Harichandan told reporters on Tuesday.

He stated that no progress has been made in the projects, footages of which have been taken by the party.

In order to get media publicity, the Ministers are reviewing project works and claiming achievements, but it is not the reality, he said.
