Eighty-four of 100 Aadarsha Vidyalayas (model schools) recently inaugurated in the State have not got principals and recruitment to a whopping 250 other teaching posts is yet to be made.
School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJP MlA Dr Bibhuti Bhushan Harischanda on Thursday.
As per the yardstick each model school needs 12 teaching posts including a Principal. Out of requirement of 1,200 teaching posts, 16 Principal and 950 teacher posts have been appointed and steps are afoot to make recruitments to other posts, the Minister said.
The 100 model schools have been set up in various blocks in 15 districts under Phase I, the Minister added.
