There would be no power cuts during evenings this summer. The State has enough power to meet the peak hour demand, said Energy Principal Secretary Suresh Mohapatra on Monday. The State needs about 4,000 MW everyday during peak hour. As the water levels in the reservoirs of various hydroelectricity projects are adequate, power outages can be avoided, Mohapatra said. He further
said that around 1,600 MW to 1,700 MW and 2,000 MW to 2,300 MW of electricity can be produced from the hydroelectricity and thermal power projects in the State, respectively.
