Smt Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT) chairman Suparno Satpathy on Wednesday alleged that non-display of Odisha tableau at the 66th Republic Day celebration in New Delhi goes against the country’s Constitutional ethos and is a disrespect to all Odias. He held both Union and State Governments responsible for this and demanded that they tender unconditional apology to Odisha people.
“The ethos of India is based on equality, unity and respect for all. However, the 66th Republic Day celebration at the Rajpath in Delhi, which displayed the might of the nation, excluded Odisha tableau. This neglect meted out to Odisha despite its significant contributions to the nation,” Satpathy pointed out terming the ‘negligence’ as an ‘anti-national deed’. He said this should not happen to any State in future as it goes against Republic spirit.
