No university or engineering/management institute from Odisha has been able to find a place in the list of country’s top 10 educational institutions announced by the Centre on Monday. While National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela has managed to get 19th position in the expanded list, the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (IITB) was given 26th rank.
The Ministry of Human Resource and Development released the list under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), a first-of-its-kind initiative.
As per the NIRF list for engineering institutions, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras was ranked first, followed by IIT, Bombay and IIT Kharagpur.
