The families having three or more pucca houses are ineligible to get ration cards under the National Food Security Act. This is one of the guidelines the State Government has set for inclusion in the NFSA Act.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma in formed this in the Assembly while replying to a question of BJD MlA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik on Saturday.
While Patnaik wanted to know whether families, who have already got houses under the Indira Awas Yojana in rural areas and the IHSDP in urban areas and have more than three pucca houses, would get NFSA ration cards, the Minister families allotted with IAY and IHSDP houses don’t face any problem to get ration cards generally.
