No money; youth lies on bed for 2 years!

In an age when everyone enjoys life with friends and family, an ill-fated youth has been leading a cursed life confined to his house.

A poor family of Tarbha, Rathapara of Subarnapur district has been running from pillar to post to seek help for treatment for their 20-year-old son Banamali Chouhan, who cannot walk after a uicerate in his left thigh since two years.

After spending whatever he could afford for his son’s treatment, his father Champeswar Chouhan (52) is looking for assistance from the administration as he is poor and, as the only bread earner of the family, has to sustain four members of his family by doing menial labour. The family needs financial assistance for a surgery that could save Banamali’s life and make it normal.

“My son was normal. Two years ago, a uicerate occurred in his left thigh. We consulted many doctors. But he didn’t walk from that day. His left side leg has become paralysed and he feels pain at the joint of his thigh,’ said Champeswar. As he is poor, he cannot afford treatment of his son, he said.

Moreover, Chouhan’s family are having all the criteria to avail the benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) .They are of BPl category. Now, they only have a ration card and a health card under other schemes.

Not just that. Ignorance and illiteracy has prevented them from seeking help of the district administration. locals have urged the administration to make arrangements for the youth’s treatment.
