The Gajapati district administration has locked up a children’s shelter centre, Zeon New Home, for operating without required infrastructure and minimum facilities at Kamalasingh under Rayagarh block recently.
The District Child Protection Officer and Child Welfare Society officials conducted raids and rescued as many as 40 kids, who were accommodated in the children home unsafely. They then handed over the children to their respective parents.
District Collector Anupam Shah has directed the DCPO to accommodate the rescued children in residential schools.
