Prof Sugata Bose, grandson of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, on Sunday said there is no need to set up a Commission of Inquiry again as stated by some politicians to find out the reason behind the mysterious disappearance of the Netaji rather he urged people and politicians to follow Netaji’s heroic ideals.
Prof Bose, a historian and a professor of History at the Harvard University, USA said this on the sidelines of the second Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das Memorial lecture in Social Sciences on ‘Netaji’s vision of national unity,’ organsied by the Central University Odisha (CUO).
Notably, BJP national president Rajnath Singh while attending the birth anniversary on Netaji in Cuttack last month had revived the debate over the controversy surrounding the disappearance of the legendary freedom fighter.
Singh has said that if and when the BJP forms Government at Centre, it would order an inquiry into the Netaji’s mysterious missing, which requires a lot of efforts and research.
Notably, the Central Government till date has instituted at least three judicial commissions to probe the issue, and each time, for alleged noncooperation from the Government, the commissions had to submit their unfinished reports that were subsequently rejected by the Government.
