BJP youths led by Ganjam District Yuva Morcha president Prabhat Kiran Sadangi on Monday took out a procession to the district Collector’s office at Chhatrapur and submitted a memorandum to him demanding payment of adequate compensation and provision of Rajiv Awases to the slum dwellers before evicting them from Dhipa Sahi of lanjipalli in the outskirts of Brahmapur.
Thousands of poor people are staying in the shelters built in the slum after the Phailin without any Government assistance. If the administration fails to provide shelter to the evicted families, the Yuva Morcha would intensify its agitation to provide justice to the victims now staying under open sky during ongoing rains, Sadangi warned.
