While there is a political slugfest over the alleged suicide of Bargarh farmer Brunda Sahu, the district Collector and Superintendent of Police have submitted their report to the State Government on the incident.
However, State Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Minister Damodar Rout on Wednesday said as per the report of the Collector and SP Brunda’s death is unclear.
But he did not take any loans from banks for agricultural activities. When the Collector met his family, they said their father did not discuss about his farming activities with him. He had taken up farming in 16 acre of land out of which six acre was damaged due to pest attack. He had set ablaze 18 decimals of his cropland.
The family said they came to know about Brunda’s torching crops and his death from the television.
