Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has made it clear that the party high command will not replace PCC president Jayadev Jena ahead of the 2014 elections. “The issue of change of PCC leadership was not even discussed during our meeting with Rahulji (in New Delhi on Saturday). He advised us take everybody, including dissidents, along and fight the elections united,” senior State Congress leader Suresh Routray said after the meeting of a State party delegation with Gandhi.
This was the first meeting the leaders had with the Gandhi after he was formally assigned to lead the party campaign in the lok Sabha polls at the AICC session on Friday.
