NKS warns Krushak Satyagraha from Oct 14

Published on:

The Navnirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) on Friday warned to resume agitation demanding a Rs-5,000 pension for farmers and a budgetary allocation of Rs 21,600 crore in this regard.

Addressing a Press meet here, NKS central coordinator Akshay Kumar while announcing a ‘Krushak Satyagraha’ from October 14 said both the Union and the State Governments are anti-farmer. While the Naveen Patnaik Government reduced 60% of the KALIA incentives, the Modi Government played a cruel hoax after promising doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.

“All the Governments are insensible towards farmers’ demands. While the State Government is spending hefty amounts on other projects and schemes, it has no concern for farmers. It has even failed to procure farmers products,” Kumar said.

He wanted to know that when sharecroppers are not regularised and prices of essential commodities are sky rocketing, what is meaning of false promises of farmers’ empowerment.
