The Navanirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) would gherao the State Assembly on Wednesday.
The NKS leaders alleged that though they have been holding a fast unto death stir for last nine days at the lower PMG demanding Rs5,000 pension per month to 36 lakh farmers’ families, the Government has not responded to them as yet. However, on Tuesday, a group of BJD MlAs, comprising Arun Sahu, Ganesh Jagdeb, Rabi Mahapatra, Byomakesh Ray and Samir Dash reached at the dharana site and held discussion with the agitators. They assured that there would be continuous efforts to sort out the issues of the farmers.
NKS leaders like Nimai Ray, Ashok Jena, Subash Jena, Umakant Rout, Maheswar Jena, among others were present.
