Nitish's anti-liquor drive in Cuttack in Aug

Published on:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to visit Odisha in the first week of August to campaign for prohibition in this State.

He would attend an anti-liquor campaign in Cuttack. Recently, Kumar has completely banned sale of liquor in his State.

The Janata Dal (United) chief would also meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and discuss the prohibition issue with him.

This was informed by JD (U) leader KC Tyagi, who was on a visit to the State as Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Industry.

“In a poverty-ridden State like Odisha, liquor should not be allowed either for trading or consumption. Nitish Kumar will appeal to Naveen to take steps for prohibition in Odisha,” said Tyagi.
