PCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Sunday urged upon voters not to come under any pressure tactics of the BJD and the BJP and exercise their franchise freely for protection of democracy.
“Both the BJP and the BJD resorted to violence and intimidated voters during the last three phases of the polls. Violence in Ghashipura, Athagarh, Pipili and Satyabadi are examples of violations of election model code of conducts committed by the two parties,” alleged Patnaik in a statement.
He said the BJD violated the model code of conduct more than the BJP as it used the Government machinery.
“People of Odisha are peace-loving by nature. The Congress wants that voters don’t come under any pressure and vote freely to give a befitting reply to the BJD and the BJP in the fourth and last leg of polls to be conducted for six Lok Sabbha seats and 41 Assembly segments under them in the State on Monday,” said Patnaik.
