Niranjan favours W Odisha's IIM demand

Published on:

Senior Congress leader and former Minister Niranjan Patnaik on Wednesday demanded that the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Odisha be set up in the western part of the State. “A state of resentment is brewing among people of western Odisha because of the State Govt’s continued negligence to them. Stating that IIMs have been set up outside the capitals of several States like one at Indore in Madhya Pradesh and another at Kojhikode in Kerala, Patnaik said, “Many national level institutions have already come up in Bhubaneswar. When there is a proposal for establishment of an airport at Jharsuguda, there would be no problem for setting up of the proposed IIM in western Odisha.”
