The Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) has invited global Expression of Interest (EOI) for setting up of a 25-MW-capacity power plant at its 1.1-million-tonne-per-annum-capacity integrated steel plant in Kalinganagar. The new unit, proposed to use coal and gas as fuel, would be set up adjacent to the existing 62.5-MW-capacity gas-based power plant of the company which comprises two 19.25-MW stream turbine driven generators and one 24-MW gas turbine driven generator.
Earlier, the NINL has already invited global EOI for setting up of a new coke oven complex consisting of seven meter tall coke oven battery of 0.88 million tonne per annum capacity having 67 ovens.
