The State Government has decided to withdraw the affiliation accorded to the nine private colleges which recorded nil results in the Plus II examinations-2014, results of which were announced on Saturday.
According to Higher Education Department Secretary Gagan Dhal, the Gunupur College, Trupti Women’s College, Basudevpur, Government Junior Science College, Jirang, Swami Vivekananda Residential College, Rayagada, Government Junior Science College, Tiring, Jayakrushna College, Tamando, Cosmic Plus Two Science College, Puri, Centurion Plus Two Science College, Ramachandrapur and Pratik Science College, Sambalpur recorded zero results.
Sources said the department has issued show-cause notices to these college authorities asking them to explain reasons behind dismal results. “If the explanations are not found satisfactory, the Government would withdraw affiliation from these colleges,” Higher Education Minister Pradip Kumar Panigrahi had told mediapersons on Saturday.
