Writer and former DGP Bipin Bihari Mishra conferred the Kuni Chitrakar-2014 awards to nine child artists at the Odisha Modern Art Gallery here on Sunday.
The function was organised by city-based Soumya Memorial Trust, which announced to provide free art coaching to three Kuni Chitrakars at the Modern Art Gallery for a year. It also felicitated young deaf and dumb artist Manas Kumar Das for his contribution in the field of art.
On last Sunday, the trust had held the children’s painting contest Kuni Chitrakar at the Modern Art Gallery where over 100 children from different schools participated in three different categories.
Trust chairman Kahnu Charan Parida said the programme recognised efforts of the children who have demonstrated a unique approach towards the great culture and arts of Odisha.
