The vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested two Government employees attached to Nimapara Sub-Registrar office, one Head Clerk Prakash Kumar Das and other person a watchman Harihar Das on the charges of demanding and accepting bribe from a complaint.
The arrest was made after anti-corruption officials seized Rs 20,000 from procession of the Head Clerk. Vigilance officials also made simultaneous raids in the houses of head clerk and watchman in Mulaguda village under Kakatpur block.
As per reports the head clerk had demanded the said amount from the compliant to process the sale deed relating to purchase of his land and based on the complaint a trap was hatched and both were caught red-handed. Both were produced before the vigilance Court in Bhubaneswar.
