The Balangir Vigilance Special Judge has awarded rigorous imprisonment (RI) of two years and a fine of Rs10,000 to Arun Kumar Mishra, secretary of Balangir-based NGO Artatrana Sarbeswari Seba Sangathana, for misappropriation of Government money to the tune of Rs11,30,669 by executing substandard work of a deep bore well in 2004. Mishra will undergo RI of six months more if he fails to pay the fine.
