Education on sanitation in schools can have a greater impact on the society. In a bid to attain this, NGO Sulabh International is planning to introduce education on sanitation for12 lakh schools in the country, said NGO founder Dr Bindeshwar Pathak at a meeting here on Sunday.
At the same time, Dr Pathak underscored the need for Government’s interest and will power to continue the drive. He further said, “No plan or scheme can be successful by the Government or NGOs without any partnership. Besides, the Government must scrutinize the efficiency and transparency while selecting an organisation for partnership.” The Government should focus on introducing education relating to sanitation in school syllabus. And, the syllabus programme would be more successful if the parents are present in the school along with the students once in a month when the education is imparted, added Pathak.
