1,640 kg ganja seized at Semiliguda
Koraput: The Semiliguda police in Koraput district seized 1,640 kg of ganja from a container during a raid at Malidoliamba chhack National Highway 26 on Saturday morning. . However, the lone accused managed to escape from the spot. Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act, 1985 and started further investigations.
Post Amphan, giant whale carcass found
Kendrapada: A carcass of a giant 60-feet-long dark-coloured whale was found near the Agarnasi coast under Rajnagar block in Kendrapada district after Cyclone Amphan. Fishermen saw it floating in seawater and informed forest officials, who recovered it. Source said the whale might have died due to strong winds and tidal surge caused by the Amphan.
docs, nurses felicitated as corona warriors
Athagarh: Three Ayush doctors Udayaranjan Dash, Sonali Priyadarsini Sahoo, Bijayalaxmi Satpathy and 27 Staff Nurses working at the GIMSAR Covid Hospital here were felicitated as corona warriors by BJD youth leader Abhaya Kumar Barik on Saturday at GIMSAR campus with bouquets, citations and shawls. Barik also distributed packets of dry foods to local poor people in nearby villages.
