The entire organisational structure of the BJP in Odisha would be strengthened and made more vibrant by the first week of January next and the fight against the failures of the BJD Government would be expedited in such a way that the BJP would come to power in the State in coming days.
This was asserted by the party’s national general secretary and Odisha-in-charge Arun Singh at a Press conference here on Sunday
“Meetings with party leaders and workers are going on for the last three to four days. Functionaries from the Mandal to State level Committees would be chosen on a consensus. The entire process would be completed by the first week of January,” said Singh.
He said there would be 997 Mandal-level organisations instead of present 491 in the State.
“Mandal committees would hold dharnas and protests at least for 12 times a year. District committees would hold mass agitations four times and there would be two State-level BJP public meetings each year, besides special meetings. The party would raise local issues like electricity, water, ration card distribution, health and education problems and corruptions in block levels,” Singh said.
He claimed that the party membership has now touched 32 lakh in the State.
Responding to a question on the Polavaram issue, Singh said the BJD Government has not taken up the issue with Centre properly and concocted the problems to take political mileage. “Our party leaders and workers would go to the people and make them understand about the Polavaram project. People have already known about the BJD’s political game,” he said.
Singh too attacked Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Ganhi on the issue of procurement of the National Herald assets.
He said the Congress-owned Young India played tactics to procure National Herald assets worth `2,500 crore at only `51 lakh by paying out its total loan of `90 crore from the Congress party fund.
“The Congress has violated many laws and evaded taxes to procure the company. It is now stalling the Parliament in apprehensions for it. More investigations would certainly be conducted into the issue,” said Singh.
Among others party spokesperson Sajjan Sharma, Sameer Mohanty and Mohan Majhi were present.
