A three-day art camp was inaugurated at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthplace Museum here on Wednesday in which at least 12 artists, selected by the lalit Kala Academy, would draw paintings on Netaji’s early life and INA days.“All the paintings would be on display at the museum on Netaji Jayanti on January 23,” said Museum Curator Jyoti Prakash Das. He said the art camp is jointly being organised by the State Culture Department and the lalit Kala Academy as part of Netaji Jayanti celebrations.

Meanwhile, a refurbished museum is all set for a grand celebration on Friday. “The renovated galleries displaying artefacts of Netaji and rare photographs of the legendary leader are ready to welcome visitors for the occasion,” Das said, adding that the Interpretation Centre of the museum too has got a facelift converting it into a Conference Hall.

As a tribute to Netaji’s huge love for plants, the museum authorities have for the first time this year erected a ‘Green House’ inside the museum premises showcasing various varieties of orchids to boost its aesthetic looks. Similarly, on Netaji Jayanti, the museum would open a souvenir counter here to sale caps, badges and pens engraved with Netaji’s photo on them, Das informed.
