Eminent nephrologist Chittaranjan Kar passed away at a hospital in Chennai on Friday evening.
Dr Kar had been airlifted to the MGM Hospital in Chennai last month as his health condition deteriorated while undergoing treatment for post-Covid complications at a hospital in Bhubaneswar. He had tested positive for the virus on August 20.
Dr Kar was a professor of Nephrology at the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack. He played a major role in initiating kidney and cadaver transplant in the State.
