'Neglected' homoeopathy docs slam Govt apathy

Published on:

We have been placing the longstanding demands of our association before the Government since so long. But the Government is not sensitive towards our demands,” said a member of the All Odisha Government Homoeopathy Services Association (AOGHSA) here on Wednesday.

The members said even small Union Territories are giving salaries to the homoeopathic medical officers much higher than that of our State. “The cadre of homoeopathic medical officers belongs to Class-I of the Central Government and other States, whereas in our State it belongs to Class-II,” they rued.

RACP has been granted to all Government employees who have not got any promotional opportunity during their service career of 10, 20 and 30 years duration with effective from January 1, 2013, which is not granted to homoeopathic medical officers’ (HMO) cadre till date. Now female health workers working under a HMO are drawing their grade pay at higher rate than that of the HMO.

Allopathic doctors who are working in remote areas of the State are getting incentives even up to Rs40,000 or more where as an HMO working in the same area is not getting a single pie as incentive, they lamented.
