The State youth wing of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Sunday condemned the role of the BJD Government in the chit fund scam. The party alleged that ruling party MlAs and Ministers helped the fraudulent companies continue their businesses safely in the State.
Youth wing president Srikant Samantray said the poor investors are the victims of the scams due to the failure of the State Government. He raised question about the role of Chief Minister in the scam as he had created credibility for the fraudulent companies by attending their functions and also conferring awards on chit fund bosses earlier.
Samantaray said the NCP youths would stage a rally in front of the Raj Bhavan on June 7 demanding an impartial probe into the chit fund scam. They would hand over a memorandum to the Governor urging him to take appropriate steps for protection of the investors’ interests.
