In a major jolt to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the State ahead of the polls, party’s Khordha district president Basant Swain and State secretary Bikram Swain on Friday resigned from the party. Bikram Swain said, “For the last 15 years, I served the NCP wholeheartedly and served as chairman of Seva Dal, Odisha chapter too for four years. However, two things forced me to think for resignation, one is that the NCP is not spreading its mass base what it should be and another is as a parent member of the party I have never received support from the party.”
