The Balangir police on Sunday began its second phase of Operation Clean Criminal on the capacity of non-bailable warrants (NBWs) issued against 10 members of don Timan’s gang, including the mastermind Guruji Khirod Mishra.
Balangir SP Dipak Kumar told reporters here that the police are now searching for Khirod Mishra and others.
“Khirod, though a teacher by profession, was involved in taking possession of Government land. He has constructed several houses on such land and encroached a portion of the land belonging to a school and has constructed a boundary wall on it,” said the SP. The SP said Khirod and the nine anti-socials of the Timan gang are trying everything they can to conceal their whereabouts. The police, therefore, has obtained the permission of the court and issued NBWs against them.
