The consumer redressal forum here has issued a non-bailable warrant against the Regional Transport Authority for noncompliance of an order of forum. In 2008 the forum, acting on a petition of one Chandramani Behera of Ranipatna alleging that traffic staff in 2006 had illegally recovered fine of Rs1,620 against her Bolero vehicle although she had valid documents, asked then RTO to refund the fine amount along with Rs500 penalty.
Since then the local transport authorities were not complying with the order of the forum. After the latest order of the forum, RTO Amresh Patra said he had joined the post in last six months and either he would obtain stay order on the NBW by January 28 or comply with the order.
