Nayapalli’s Balitotasahi Residents’ Welfare Association (BRWA) in association with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) organised a cleanliness and awareness drive here on Sunday.
BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, former Corporator Ramanath Samantray and social activist Milan Kumar Paikray graced the occasion as guests.
Association members said this ward is being neglected by the BMC. This drive was undertaken after repeated futile requests to the BMC. The residents lashed out at the Ward Corporator and her husband, the former Corporator Ramanath Samantray, for their negligence.
Guests had discussions with locals on their problems. The Mayor assured them to solve their problems at the earliest.
The locals thanked the Mayor for the assurance.
The residents also submitted a memorandum to the Mayor to solve the waterlogging problems in the locality.
Among others, association president Baisanab Prasad Mohanty, secretary Prafulla Kumar Das, VPs Kanan Bala Mahapatra, Sanjeeb Kumar Senapati, assistant secretary Banaja Das, advisor Aarti Rout, treasurer Ashish Sethy and cultural secretary Sudhir Nayak were present.
