A youth, who had been kidnapped on June 15 from Kalyanpur village in Nayagarh district, was found dead near Jankia Ugratara in Khordha district on Friday.
The identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained. The youth was abducted from Kalyanpur village, following which his family members had lodged a complaint with local police in the regard.
On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter. The body was seized and sent to a local hospital for postmortem. Sources said police have arrested a person on suspicion of abduction and murder of the deceased.
While the exact cause behind the death of the youth is yet to be ascertained, a political rivalry is suspected behind the murder, sources said.
