The Navnirman Samiti has raised its voice against the land scam by Revenue Minister Bijayshree Routray and alleged that the Minister is misusing the cost-free land allocated by the Government for opening of a nursing home by his wife Dr Jyotishree Routray.
In a letter to CM Naveen Patnaik, Samiti founder Akshay Kumar has stated, “The Govt allotted a plot at Kharavel Nagar here (Bhubaneswar) in 1986 to the Minister’s wife for opening of a nursing home. However, the land has been used for residential purpose.” Expressing his concern, Kumar asked, “How the Minister himself is violating law and moral ethics and how you, as the Chief Minister, are tolerating such practiceIJ” He further demanded, “The Minister must immediately surrender the land in accordance with law and conscience within seven days, or else we will be forced to take law into our hand.”
