An expenditure of at least Rs34,26,002 was incurred on the oath-taking ceremony of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Raj Bhavan on May 21, a reply to an RTI application has found.
The reply provided by the Planning and Coordination Department Public Information Officer (PIO) said the cost incurred on the arrangements of the oath-taking ceremony related to tentage, stage, temporary illumination arrangement, vehicle arrangements and other allied items amounted to Rs34,26,002. Patnaik on May 21 was sworn in as the Chief Minister for the fourth consecutive term.
