Naveen wants way out to protect black money: BJP

Published on:

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is trying to find out a way out to convert black money into white by demanding permission to Cooperative Banks for exchange of junked currency notes, withdrawal of PAN Card norm for deposit of `50,000 and above in tribal areas and transaction of HSG accounts without any restrictions with his pleas to the Prime Minister, alleged BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan here on Monday.

“The Chief Minister’s efforts are no different from the ones adopted by his counterparts of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. His support for demonetisation is just an attempt to find a way to save black money which is condemnable,” said Harichandan.

Commenting on the tribunal demand on the Mahanadi issue, Harichanda said the water sharing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh would go to the court of law and the Central Government would play no role to resolve the issue.

“The BJP will support this move as the Odisha Government would need to provide strong clues to protect the State’s interest,” he said.
