Odisha Jan Morcha president Pyarimohan Mohapatra, addressing the long-awaited his party’s Kranti Samabesh on Wednesday called upon the people to throw the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government out of power to protect the self-respect of Odias.

Even after 14 long years of his ruling Odisha, Patnaik could not learn Odia and he is not aware of  traditions, culture and aspirations of Odia people and hence, unfit to rule this State, he alleged.   Patnaik’s ignorance of Odia language is a major impediment to understand the feelings and aspirations of the people of the State, which is taken as an advantage by bureaucrats and his sycophants, Mohapatra said.

He asserted that five Minister and five BJD MlAs are involved in the chit fund scams resulting in the loot of hard-earned money of depositors, for which Patnaik should be prosecuted and sent to jail. Even though Patnaik represents Hinjili of Ganjam district in the Assembly, no substantive development works have been carried out in the area as well as in the district during his tenure as the Chief Minister,, Mohapatra alleged.

local OJM leaders alleged that BJD hoodlums even went to the extent of tearing the OJM posters and banners in Brahmapur, which is a clear pointer that Naveen Patnaik is scared about the OJM’s growth in the State. They also said OJM workers and sympathisers are being tortured on political vendetta. Despite rains, the rally witnessed a large gathering. Among others, OJM vice-president Rajendra Prasad Singh and district coordinator and veteran trade union leader Santosh Kumar Mohapatra also spoke at the meeting.
